Holidays 2012

Happy Late Holidays! I guess they came and went so fast I never had time to blog. Thanksgiving was great- had it at my parents. Christmas we had here, as we had Ken's sister, her husband, and their friend all here. Kyson has become all-of-a-sudden really into Spiderman, so he asked Santa for everything Spiderman, and he got it- shoes, underwear, puzzle, car, mask, costume, figurine. When we got him the shoes he loved that they lit-up and Kenley kept trying to tap her new shoes and when she didn't see them blinking, she said "broken"... it  was so sad. I guess blinking shoes are on her next list. Kenley did score with a new pink barbie Jeep that she can try to keep up with her brother in (he has the motorized John Deer tractor). She loves it. Kaelyn enjoyed her first Christmas as well. She is now 5 1/2 months and growing fast. She is such a happy baby and smiles at just about anyone!

A few fun things we've done over the holidays is make gingerbread houses (although they turned out more adobe style as I forgot to cut the sides with and angle for the roof.) We went to a Luminarias show one night at Phx Botanical gardens and enjoyed several live bands, some good food, and neat sights. We also got plenty of shopping in, eating, sleeping in, Christmas movies, and even a few games. New Years Eve we had a family from church over and played some fun games and good food. Super fun!

Ken's other sister is here with her friend, and we're hoping to make it to more shopping, the zoo, and possibly even head north for a night to see some snow (although they're from Alaska, so don't think they care about the snow part.) Speaking of snow, Ken tried to make a snow maker with a buddy from church, but it didn't produce snow as good as we hoped.

It's always sad to take the Christmas tree and decor down, as it is always been one of my favorite times of year. On the other hand, it's good to start fresh with a new year, with new goals/hopes etc. My main resolution is just to be a better me (runner, mom, wife, RN, etc). Hope you had enjoyable holidays with family and friends and took time to reflect on what matters most, our Savior and His birth, life, & mission.
